“When I began the First Line Therapy program in May 2010, my cholesterol was high and my physician was considering putting me on medication but wanted to check it again in six months. I also had a high percentage of body fat, despite my small size.
The program helped me to begin eating properly and increased my exercise level. The close monitoring of diet, exercise, and BIA measurements was crucial in helping me stay with the program. After the program ended in three months, I’d seen good progress and was eager to continue with it.
Through consistent use of the nutrition program and regular exercise, I have now lowered my overall body fat percentage by more than 5% in 8 months, which for me is significant. More importantly, my cholesterol went down more than 50 points. My doctor was astonished with these results, and without the use of medication. Needless to say, I have not needed to go on cholesterol-lowering medication.
I am continuing with the program on my own and am still seeing progress in terms of overall body fat decrease and an increase in lean body mass. Most especially, I have very good energy despite a busy schedule as an educator.
The First Line Therapy program has helped me take control of my health and well being and realize very concrete achievements for my efforts. I’m so pleased to have found this program. It really works.”
“After only three months of working with Dr. Bill and doing rehab I can say I have a new lease on life. Migraines were a regular part of my life. Since I was a teenager migraines were triggered by athletics. In my 20’s stress was a trigger. At one point in my 30’s I had two years where I had a migraine EVERY DAY! Now I might get one every 1-1.5 months apart. There were times in my life where the migraine was so unbearable I wound up at the hospital for relief.
The other issue I came to see Dr. Bill about is sciatic pain and some pain in my leg and foot. I have “Morton’s Neuroma” which is when you have nerve damage in your foot (see diagram) causing a constant burning sensation.
Dr. Bill recommended I get scanned for some orthotics in his office. Sue scanned my feet and explained the benefits of having well balanced feet. Once I got the ‘new feet’ I felt like the tides were changing. I’ve been wearing them for a few weeks now and the blood seems to be flowing better from my sciatic down to my foot. I’ve lived with this pain for so long that I have forgotten what it feels like to have real relief not masked by advil, codeine, or something even stronger.
I’ve always taken good care of my body, complained very little about the pain I live with, and kept working through the pain. I’m optimistic that positive things will continue to happen with my health.”
“I was introduced to Dr. Bill when I was 28 yrs old by my coworker. I had been struggling to stand up straight for almost a week, I literally was hunched over and could not straighten my back when I walked. My coworker finally told me I had to go see a chiropractor. She gave me Dr. Bill’s phone number. I had never gone to a chiropractor before and was a little skeptical of it, but made an appointment. I saw Dr. Bill 3 times/wk for a couple of weeks and felt a little better with each adjustment. One day after my 6 or 7th adjustment, I was at home on a wk end alone and noticed the muscle in the front of my thigh was in spasm. It was twitching uncontrollably for at least 45 minutes before I decided it was a full blown emergency and had to call Dr. Bill at home. He told me that was a form of release and not to worry. Again, I was skeptical. My spasm went on for another hour or so then stopped. Within a day after that, my back didn’t hurt anymore. I could stand up straight and last all day. That’s when I decided I didn’t need to continue seeing Dr. Bill.
3 months later.
Can’t get out of bed. Back hunched over like I’m 130 yrs old I’m only 29! This seems wrong! I call Dr. Bill’s office needing to get in NOW! Of course, they welcomed me back with open arms and explained that I needed to continue maintenance care to keep my body healthy and on the right path. This time I listened, and Dr. Bill, once again, got me back on track. My husband saw my progress and decided he should go see Dr. Bill too. He’s 6’4″ and drives a tiny clown car that he can barely fit into. His back is a mess. He started regularly going to see Dr. Bill and also had good progress with his condition.
3 months later.
I’m pregnant! I told Dr. Bill and he explained the benefits of chiropractic care during pregnancy to me. How my body is changing, ligaments stretching, organs moving, everything making room for the baby. I saw Dr. Bill religiously throughout my pregnancy. He educated my husband and I on the trauma some children go through during delivery and the lasting effects forceps, vacuums, drugs can have on a baby. I was totally on board for a natural birth. He told me how beneficial it could be to have a baby adjusted after birth because of the stress her little spine would have to endur. He told me to call him after her birth and he would come and see us. Everything went well until labor. My water broke, got induced, pushed for hours, baby crowning, used vacuum, used forceps, still no baby, finally emergency C-Section, epidural, epidural didn’t work, extra drugs, had to pull on her so hard to get her out because she was partially delivered and stuck in birthing canal .In the end a very healthy, happy baby girl! Yay!
In the hospital, One day post delivery. Couldn’t wait to call Dr. Bill. I was sure all of the unexpected turn of events had a serious impact on Sydney. He came to see us. Sydney was not in a good mood when he arrived. She started crying first thing in the morning and she hadn’t stopped all day. When Dr. Bill walked in, I apologized that she was so upset. He calmly sat down on the end of the bed and took Sydney in his arms. He held her up, and gave her the slightest tap tap tap down the spine. And she stopped! Stopped screaming, crying, and fell asleep. My whole family was in the room during this and they were awestruck.
Dr. Bill came to our house again during my post-partum period, adjusted us and explained to me the benefits of chiropractic care for young children. After all I had witnessed, I was prepared for Sydney to begin her life with chiropractic care.
Sydney has seen Dr. Bill on a monthly basis all of her life. She is now 2 yrs old. People are constantly commenting on her posture. I tell them all that she has been under chiropractic care since birth.
I have enormous respect for Dr. Bill and his staff. Chiropractic Care has changed the health of me and my family.”
“Three months ago my 29 year old body felt to me like it was closer to 90 years old. Ever since my early twenties I had experiencedlower back pain. As the years progressed the pain and symptoms with my back became increasingly worse. The past three years had been exceptionally bad. It finally got to the point where I was in pain constantly and no longer knew what it felt like to feel well. I had unbearable pain in my lower back that radiated down one or both of my legs. It made it difficult to walk and just be able to go about daily activities.
Sleeping became next to impossible since I could never get comfortable and the pain would never subside. I tried all different types of pain relievers but none of them would even begin to take the edge off. A few years ago I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, of which back and neck pain are common symptoms, and at the time was told that I would just have to live with it. So I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that this was the way my body was going to feel and that it would probably only continue to get worse with age. However, I was so uncomfortable that it was beginning to affect every aspect of my life, including work. After I had to call in sick for three days because it was too painful for me to walk, move, or sleep, I knew I couldn’t live this way any longer.
I found the website for Vizuri Health Center and had an intuitive sense that Dr. Bill might be able to help me. I left from my first appointment with a good feeling that it could be possible for me to get better. After my evaluation I was informed that the cause of my pain was from nerve interference and I was given an outline about the treatment I was to receive. My initial intensive care consisted of coming to the office three days a week for physical therapy with Deana and Sue (who always make exercising fun!) and an adjustment with Dr. Bill. After the second week I had almost no pain in my lower back, the pain radiating down my legs was gone, and I have continued to improve to the point where I am pain free almost every day. After living with such discomfort for so long it was hard for me to believe that I could feel so good – I haven’t felt this way since I was a teenager.
I have the utmost confidence and trust in Dr. Bill and the entire staff. I actually enjoy coming to my appointments and seeing all the familiar, welcoming faces. Everyone has been so great to work with and has made me feel so at ease. I am looking forward to continuing my healing with the help of Schenck Chiropractic.”
“Since I was a teenager I suffered from migraines. I would typically get 3-4 of them per year. The symptoms of the migraine were : dizziness, the need for darkness, the need for silence and an overall total body discomfort.
I began treatment with Dr. Bill in November of 2008. I have only had one migraine since I first started getting adjusted. Dr. Bill also had me doing rehab & some core strengthening exercises. I feel like the awareness of my posture, the adjustments and strengthening to my body has contributed to my new found decrease in the debilitating headaches I used to get.
I am now in my 50’s but feel there is nothing that can stop me from doing all of the things I love to do. I plan to continue my adjustments as I know the benefits for my long-term overall health & well being.”
“I put off going to my general practitioner as I thought I was going to end up in a wheelchair. Then I made a decision to try Dr. Bill and made an appointment in August 2008. Upon my initial exam I found outmy right hip was 4″ lower than my left hip which was causing my piriformis muscle to compensate. Between working with Dr. Bill and Maria, I am walking without any pain, my body is no longer bent over and crooked. I am a new person. At 73 years old, who would think a body could be readjusted and straightened? I am living (and walking) proof. I am no longer living the mantra “every step is a killer”!”
